Text of Audio: 
I worked for a man for three weeks. I worked very hard. Every day I went to work for three weeks. I asked my boss when I was going to get paid. He did not answer. I asked him again and he changed the subject. I called him and he did not answer the phone. Every day I asked him when I would get my first check. My boss just ignored me. I was getting really mad. I was working hard and I was starting to think that he was not going to pay me. I kept asking him. I kept calling him. I even sent him text messages about getting paid. He never responded.
One day he answered the phone. He told me to come to my work at 10am to pick up the check. I said ok. I waited until 10am. At 10am I went to the store. Guess what? My boss wasn’t there.
The next day, I started calling him again. I called him. I texted him and he never responded. A few days later after I canadian online casinos was getting very frustrated, I went to the store. He was there. I told him I needed the money. I needed to get paid. I told him I have 11 kids and a lot of bills to pay. He just smiled and told me to come back the next day.
The next day, I went to the store right when it opened. I went to my work with all of my 11 kids. My boss was there. I asked him for the millionth time for my check. He finally paid me. I was so happy. He finally paid me for my hard work.

ESL Story 6: Delivery Men

Text of Story:
Willy and Amos are men. Willy and Amos are delivery men. Willy and Amos deliver new refrigerators to people’s houses. Every day they deliver many refrigerators to customers. Willy and Amos love being delivery men but sometimes they run into problems.

Before going to the first delivery of the day, they called Cindy, the first customer on the list. The delivery men said ‘Good Morning Cindy! We have your new refrigerator ready for delivery. We will be there soon.’ Cindy said, ‘Ok. You can deliver my refrigerator now. See you soon.’

Willy and Amos arrived at Cindy’s house 20 minutes later to deliver her new refrigerator. Willy went to the door. He rang the doorbell. No one came to the door. Willy knocked on the door and no one came to the door.

The delivery men called Cindy again on the phone. ‘Hello,’ they said after she answered ‘We are at your house now with your new refrigerator.’ The customer said ‘What? I am not expecting a delivery today. I am not ready for a delivery. You must be confused. Please come tomorrow’. Willy and Amos could not believe their ears. Cindy, the customer had just told them to come do the delivery and now she said she was not ready. Willy and Amos run into problems like this every day.

Willy and Amos drive to the next customer’s house to deliver their refrigerator. This customer was home and they were able to do the delivery. As they were leaving, the delivery men’s phone started to ring. It was Cindy, the first customer calling. ‘Hello! Delivery Guys’ they answered. ‘Where are you? You are late! I have been waiting for you for a long time.’ said Cindy, the customer. Now Willy and Amos were really confused. ‘Please deliver my new refrigerator right now! I am waiting.’

Amos and Willy drove back to Cindy’s house as fast as they could. They quickly unloaded her new refrigerator from the truck and brought it to the door. This time when the knocked on the door Cindy answered. Willy and Amos picked the refrigerator up…. But they ran into another problem. Cindy’s new refrigerator was so big that it did not fit through her doors of her house! It was too big.

ESL Story 5: Rubber Chickens

James was a poor man. James had no money. James had no money but he had a great idea. James thought that he could make a ton of money selling rubber chickens. James thought that he could make millions of dollars selling rubber chickens. He thought that everyone in the world needed at least 1 rubber chicken.

James needed money to buy a lot of rubber chickens. He was poor and had no money. James went to his rich Uncle Warren’s house and told him his great idea. James borrowed $345,000 from his uncle Warren Buffet. James told his Uncle Warren that he would pay him back in three weeks. James bought 3 million yellow rubber chickens with the $345,000 that he borrowed from his uncle Warren.

James decided the best place to sell rubber chickens would be outside a restaurant that sells fried chicken. On Monday, James went to the restaurant. He felt really lucky. He thought he would sell at least 1 million rubber chickens that day. He stood outside the fried chicken restaurant for 13 hours. James stood there yelling, ‘Beautiful Yellow Rubber Chickens, $5 each! Who wants a rubber chicken?’ for 13 hours. In the entire day, 13 whole hours, he only sold 30 chickens. James went home but he still felt lucky and he knew he would sell more rubber chickens the next day.

On Tuesday, James woke up at 6am. He went to a large elementary school by his house. James stood at the school waiting. James stood there yelling, ‘Beautiful Yellow Rubber Chickens, $5 each! Who wants a rubber chicken?’ James attracted a lot of attention at the school. The children loved James’ chickens but there was a problem. Very few of the children had money to buy his rubber chickens. James spent the entire day selling chickens in front of the school. On Tuesday, he had a little more luck than Monday. James sold 263 chickens in front of the school on Tuesday. He was happy but he still has 2,999,724 rubber chickens left to sell.

On Wednesday, James woke up at 3am. He had done some research and he knew exactly where he could sell the chickens. James put all the rubber chickens in his van and drove to a small city in California called Chicken City. He got to chicken city at 6am. James stood on the busiest street corner in chicken city selling the rubber chickens. James stood there on the corner yelling, ‘Beautiful Yellow Rubber Chickens, $5 each! Who wants a rubber chicken?’ and something amazing happened. People started running up to him, waving money and buy not 1 but 20, 30 and even 100 rubber chickens at a time. On Wednesday, James sold all of the chickens in Chicken City , California by 2pm.

James felt like the luckiest man in the world. He was able to sell all the rubber chickens. He paid back his uncle Warren and had enough money to buy more rubber chickens. James was no longer a poor man. He was now a rich man like his uncle Warren.

There was a man. His name was Bruno. Bruno was the ugliest man in Colombia. Bruno was really ugly. Bruno had a problem. He didn’t have a wife. He wanted a wife but he didn’t have one. Bruno wanted a wife with a beautiful voice.

Bruno went to Shakira’s house in Colombia. He didn’t care that he was the ugliest man in Colombia. He wanted to marry Shakira because he knew that she had a beautiful voice. Bruno stood outside Shakira’s house for 37 days. He stood outside her house playing his violin for 37 days. He never stopped. He was in love with Shakira’s voice and he wanted to marry her. Shakira finally came out of her house after 37 days. Bruno asked her if she would marry him. Shakira said ‘No Way! Get out of here. Stop bothering me.’ Bruno was very sad. He was very sad that Shakira didn’t want to marry him. He cried.

Then Bruno went to Jennifer Lopez’s house in New York. Bruno, the ugliest man in Colombia went to Jennifer Lopez’s house because he wanted to marry a woman with a beautiful voice. Bruno stood outside Jennifer’s house for 223 days. He stood outside her house playing his violin for 223 days. He never stopped playing his violin. He was in love with Jennifer’s beautiful voice and he wanted to marry her. Jennifer finally came out of her house after 223 days. Bruno asked her if she would marry him. Jennifer said ‘No Way! Get out of here! Stop bothering me! I will not marry you.’ Bruno was very, very sad. He was very sad that Jennifer Lopez didn’t want to marry him. He cried. He cried like a baby.

Next, Bruno went to Rihanna’s house in Atlanta. Bruno, the ugliest man in Colombia went to Rihanna’s house because he wanted to marry a woman with a beautiful voice. Bruno stood outside her house for 18 hours. He stood outside Rihanna’s house playing his violin for 18 hours. He never stopped playing his violin. He was in love with Rihanna’s beautiful voice and he wanted to marry her. Rhianna finally came out of her house after 18 hours. Bruno asked her if she would marry him. Rihanna said ‘I will marry you only if you get plastic surgery.’ Bruno was very excited. Bruno said ‘Yes! Yes, I will get plastic surgery.’ Bruno agreed to get plastic surgery. Bruno was excited that Rihanna, a woman with a beautiful voice would marry him.

Bruno got plastic surgery and he was no longer the ugliest man in Colombia. Bruno and Rihanna got married and they lived happily ever after.

The supermarket in Japan only had small dogs. Mary did not want a small dog. She wanted a big dog. There were no big dogs in the supermarket in Japan. Mary was sad.

After going to Japan, Mary took a train to Russia. Mary took a train from Japan to Russia. In Russia, Mary went to a bank. The bank in Russia did not have any big or small dogs. The bank in Russia had a lot of money but they did not have any dogs. Mary was sad that there were no dogs at the bank in Russia.

Mary walked from Russia to Germany. Mary walked all the way from Russia to Germany. In Germany, Mary went to a pet shop. Mary went to a small pet shop in Germany. Mary wanted to buy a big dog at the small pet shop in Germany.

She was very happy because there were five big dogs are the pet shop in Germany. Mary bought a big white and brown dog in Germany. She bought an expensive white and brown dog at the pet shop in Germany. The expensive dog cost 5 million Euros. Mary was very happy that she finally had a big dog. She finally had a big dog but now she had no money.
